Invest Johor outlines five sectors for Nexus Sedenak development
The planned JS-SEZ hub has potential investments of RM12 billion and could create 45,000 jobs, according to figures announced in Budget 2027.

Invest Johor has selected five potential sectors for Nexus Sedenak, a planned industrial and supply chain hub within the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). Its chief executive officer Natazha Hariss said the focus includes advanced manufacturing, green technology, integrated logistics, the pharmaceutical industry, and agricultural and food technology.
During his Budget 2027 presentation on Oct 9, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the development in the northern JS-SEZ had potential investments of RM12 billion and could create 45,000 jobs. Natazha said investment and employment targets were expected to be met progressively, depending on development phases, infrastructure readiness and investment project implementation.
Natazha told Bernama that infrastructure development and connections to major transport networks supported the location's appeal to domestic and foreign investors. He said Invest Johor would work with developers, agencies and industry participants to advance investments and help local communities gain access to jobs.
Anwar also said a special task force had been formed under the Queen Bee approach to coordinate negotiations across agencies and draw leading companies from strategic sectors into the JS-SEZ.
Natazha described that approach as complementary to Nexus Sedenak's development, saying leading companies could bring suppliers, technology partners and other supporting businesses. He said the task force would improve federal-state coordination on approvals, infrastructure, utilities and workforce requirements, while Invest Johor was ready to facilitate engagement between investors and relevant agencies.
