Dialog Group Bhd has outlined plans for another RM3 billion of investment during 2027 to 2030 for development at Pengerang Deepwater Terminals (PDT). The group told Bernama that spending decisions would depend on demand from customers, commercial viability and how projects fit within the broader Pengerang ecosystem.

Discussions with prospective customers and industry participants are under way, Dialog said. Further announcements would follow the formalisation of agreements and receipt of necessary approvals.

Meanwhile, Dialog said completion of the Phase 3 expansion was still targeted for mid-2028. The work falls under a long-term service agreement with BP Singapore Pte Limited and will provide approximately 614,000 cubic metres in extra storage for biofuels and refined petroleum products.

Another project, by Pengerang Terminals (Two) Sdn Bhd (PT2SB), involves dedicated storage capacity of 272,000 cubic metres serving the Pengerang Biorefinery. This is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2028. The biorefinery will produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Together, these developments are expected to bring PDT's operating storage capacity to around five million cubic metres by 2028, Dialog said. Current capacity stands at approximately four million cubic metres.

The group put investment in PDT so far at more than RM14 billion and said approximately 267 hectares remained available for development. It is exploring further opportunities involving petrochemicals, conventional energy, logistics and emerging lower-carbon industries.
