Oriental Kopi spends about RM150,000 on trilingual menus after backlash
CGS International said the restaurant chain had seen no material change in customer traffic or customer mix following the menu language dispute.

Oriental Kopi Holdings Bhd has spent about RM150,000 reprinting its menus in three languages, with distribution across all outlets due by the end of November, according to CGS International. The research house provided the update after attending an investor briefing with the company.
CGS International said the controversy had not materially affected the number of customers visiting the chain or its customer mix so far. It also noted long queues at three recently opened outlets.
The chain drew criticism on social media in October because its menus used only English and Chinese. Founder and managing director Datuk Calvin Chan subsequently apologised and promised to add Bahasa Malaysia through a menu reprint.
Separately, Oriental Kopi is considering up to 10 additional outlets a year, having had 34 stores at the end of July. CGS International said the chain was entering second-tier malls after establishing itself in most high-traffic locations. The research house expects that shift to help contain rental costs.
