Unisem (M) Bhd reported RM30.73 million in net profit for 3QFY2026, up 59% from RM19.38 million a year earlier. The semiconductor assembly and testing group also announced its first interim single-tier dividend for FY2026, at one sen per share, with payment scheduled for Dec 8.

In its bourse filing, Unisem attributed the quarterly earnings improvement to increased sales volume and other operating income. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept 30, 2026 reached RM607.66 million, a 23% increase from RM492.74 million.

Other operating income rose 55%, reaching RM13.74 million. Gross profit was RM62.18 million, up 38% year-on-year, while gross margin improved from 9.12% to 10.23%.

For 9MFY2026, however, net profit slipped 21% to RM27.28 million against RM34.52 million a year earlier. Revenue increased 18%, reaching RM1.64 billion compared with RM1.39 billion. The group said foreign exchange movements and higher operating costs weighed on earnings despite stronger sales.

Unisem expects a continuing recovery in customer demand, together with better utilisation of its installed capacity, to support performance over the rest of the financial year.

At the Nov 6 noon trading break, Unisem shares stood at RM3.68, down 24 sen or 6.12%, valuing the group at RM6.31 billion.
