Bursa Malaysia rises as FBM KLCI gains 0.44 per cent
Gainers led losers 272 to 202, while turnover reached 440.19 million units valued at RM164.76 million.

Malaysia’s benchmark equity index moved higher in early trading on Oct 6, following overnight gains on Wall Street. At 9.21 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,638.89, up 7.14 points, or 0.44 per cent, against Monday’s closing level of 1,631.75.
The opening level was 1,636.38, a gain of 4.63 points. Across the market, 272 counters advanced and 202 declined. Another 364 were unchanged, while 1,944 were untraded and 13 suspended. Trading volume totalled 440.19 million units, with a value of RM164.76 million.
Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd reported overnight increases of 0.2 per cent for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, 0.7 per cent for the S&P 500 and 1.1 per cent for the Nasdaq Composite. The brokerage said it expected investors to be selective before the Budget 2027 announcement.
Among heavyweight stocks, Maybank added four sen to RM10.04, while Tenaga Nasional also rose four sen, reaching RM13.04. CIMB advanced three sen to RM7.76 and IHH Healthcare gained two sen to RM7.78. Public Bank remained unchanged at RM4.71.
In active counters, Ramssol climbed 2.5 sen to 86 sen and Divfex increased one sen to 16.5 sen. Zetrix AI gained half a sen to seven sen. ACE market newcomer SLGC fell 3.5 sen to 24.5 sen, while Dagang NeXchange declined half a sen to 50 sen.
