Malaysia welcomes Chinese proposals on technology transfer
The proposals cover sharing expertise through joint projects, including the East Coast Rail Link and the electric vehicle sector.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said on Oct 15 that Malaysia welcomed proposals from China for wider transfers of technology and knowledge. Chinese Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang put forward the initiatives during their meeting in Beijing.
Speaking at a press conference, Ahmad Zahid said Malaysia's positive response reflected China's willingness to share technology and expertise through joint projects. He cited the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and the electric vehicle (EV) sector.
He said Ding had also suggested new initiatives for Malaysia's consideration. Ahmad Zahid described the proposals as a sign of Beijing's commitment to closer bilateral ties, with both countries seeking strategic cooperation that goes beyond conventional investment arrangements.
The courtesy call at the Great Hall of the People lasted about 30 minutes. Ahmad Zahid was in China for a five-day working visit.
