Hi Mobility Bhd said its wholly owned subsidiary, Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (HISB), has received a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) for a proposed appointment to operate Johor Bahru’s Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) programme.

The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), which comes under the Transport Ministry, issued the LOI for a term starting Jan 1, 2027 and ending March 31, 2031. Hi Mobility told Bursa that discussions would cover the scope of services, contract value and terms, alongside other matters, before a letter of acceptance could be issued.

The company said the appointment would enable HISB to remain involved in Johor Bahru’s SBST programme. The proposal precedes the planned start of passenger operations on the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link in February 2027.

Under its Causeway Link brand, Hi Mobility runs seven routes between Johor Bahru and Singapore using 155 buses. Its other operations comprise 112 intracity routes served by 554 buses and eight intercity routes served by 33 buses across Johor, Melaka and the Klang Valley.

The group’s latest quarterly financial report put its unbilled order book for contracted services at RM211 million at end July.

Hi Mobility shares finished Thursday at RM1.80, up one sen or 0.56%. Its market capitalisation stood at RM952.26 million.
