Alibaba.com introduces Accio AI agent in Malaysia
An agreement with MATRADE includes plans for a dedicated Halal Pavilion to present certified Malaysian halal products to overseas buyers.

Alibaba.com introduced its AI agent Accio in Malaysia at a summit on Oct 16, 2026, alongside an agreement with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) aimed at helping businesses prepare for exports and develop digital trade.
The company said Accio allows businesses to assess market opportunities, find suppliers and locate manufacturing partners. Participants at the summit used the tool for supplier searches and business planning.
Alibaba.com's head of South and Southeast Asia Roger Luo said Malaysian SMEs faced difficulties navigating overseas markets and working with limited resources, despite their manufacturing capabilities and product quality.
The memorandum of understanding with MATRADE includes plans for a Halal Pavilion on Alibaba.com's platform, where certified Malaysian halal products would be presented to international buyers. UOB Malaysia will also provide support through its financial expertise and regional network to help SMEs access financing and expand abroad.
The accompanying CoCreate Pitch Malaysia 2026 competition featured 10 Malaysian entrepreneurs. It drew more than 2,300 applications nationwide and offered a prize pool totalling RM500,000 for business growth.
LettuBoost won with fish feed produced from invasive aquatic plants and other biomass. Global Cerah placed second with its work on livestock feed and pet-food ingredients derived from agricultural by-products. Eartheories took third with an AI-assisted system for fragrance recommendations.
The three winners will have an opportunity to attend London's CoCreate Global Summit 2026 in November.
