Faversham SEO Specialist Helps Kent Builders Get Found in ChatGPT and AI Search

The specialist SEO consultancy is changing its services to reflect shifts in how people find trades and construction firms online.

Kent, England, United Kingdom, August 20, 2026 -- East Kent SEO, a specialist SEO consultancy based in Faversham, Kent, has made AI search optimisation a standard part of every client package rather than a paid add-on.

The change reflects a shift in how people find trades and construction firms. Buyers who once typed a search into Google are now asking ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for recommendations, and those tools pull from a different set of sources than traditional search rankings do. A company can rank well on Google and still be invisible when an AI tool is asked to recommend a builder in Kent.

Founder Ben Nuttall spent around ten years as an engineer before moving into SEO, and now works mainly with builders, tradesmen, groundworks contractors and plant and lifting engineering firms across Kent and the wider UK. He handles every client account himself, with no account managers and no outsourcing, on month to month contracts.

"Most construction firms I speak to have never checked whether an AI tool would recommend them," said Benjamin. "They assume that if they rank on Google, they're covered. That isn't how it works anymore. The directories and citation sources these tools draw from are not the same ones that move Google rankings."

The consultancy's construction clients are now appearing in AI search results alongside traditional rankings. Nuttall says the approach comes down to being specific about what a company does, proving it with real case studies, and making sure that information is consistent everywhere it appears online.

East Kent SEO offers local SEO, national SEO, citation building, link building, web design and AI search optimisation.
