F&N considers targeted price increases as input costs rise

The group has already raised prices by an average of about 3% to 4% across its portfolio in recent quarters.

Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd is weighing additional price increases on selected products as higher dairy, sugar, tin and energy costs squeeze margins, chief executive officer Tarang Gupta said.

Speaking at the group's financial results briefing, Gupta said any further adjustments would depend on consumers' sensitivity to prices rather than apply across all products. Previous increases differed by product and market.

F&N is also examining ways to improve operations, adjust pricing strategies and reduce costs while protecting sales volumes. Chief financial officer Tiong Yean Yau said making operations more cost-efficient would take priority over changing prices.

The group reported net profit of RM437.09 million for FY2026, which ended on Sept 30, 2026, down 14% from RM508.47 million a year earlier. Revenue declined 5.3% to RM4.92 billion from RM5.20 billion.

Fourth-quarter net profit, however, increased 18.2% to RM135.05 million from RM114.29 million, largely because of lower tax expenses. Quarterly revenue fell 3.1% to RM1.19 billion.

Gupta said input costs had risen during FY2026's second half, leading to some earlier price changes. He expects further cost pressure in FY2027.
