MIHAS 2026 records RM6.78 billion in sales, surpassing target
The halal trade showcase attracted 69,104 visitors from 93 countries, while its longer-term economic contribution will require further tracking.

The 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 generated sales of RM6.78 billion, according to its Success Case Studies report. That was a 12 per cent increase from RM6.05 billion in 2025 and exceeded the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) target of RM5 billion by RM1.78 billion.
Held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from Sep 23-26, 2026, the exhibition drew 69,104 visitors representing 93 countries. Exhibitors and buyers participating in the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) represented 58 countries.
The report distinguished the sales recorded at the event from its trade-development role, which included connecting buyers and businesses, providing market information and supporting certification and export preparation. It said longer-term effects would depend on whether those contacts led to exports, investment, production and jobs.
Further monitoring after the exhibition would help establish its economic contribution, the report said. It also identified agentic artificial intelligence (AI) and the MADANI Digital Trade Platform as tools that could help participants maintain contact and follow up on discussions after returning to their markets.
