Zetrix AI Bhd owes over RM200 million to the government following a failure to pass on customer payments, according to the Straits Times. The amount was verified by a Ministry of Transport spokesperson when contacted by The Edge.

The Straits Times cited official documents indicating that non-remittance began in May 2023, at the outset of Zetrix AI’s three-year contract. The payments were collected for the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and covered traffic summonses, vehicle road tax renewals and driving licence renewals.

An unnamed government official told the Singapore newspaper that the ministry was weighing its next move. The official said it wanted a more dependable digital payment system while also ensuring the outstanding money was repaid.

Separately, the company’s latest annual report listed RM95.5 million in other payables, comprising accruals, deposits received and trade payables. Its current liabilities stood at RM577.4 million, while non-current liabilities were RM1.25 billion, with loans and borrowings accounting for most of both categories.

Zetrix AI’s latest financial statements recorded RM269.3 million in net profit for the quarter ending June 30, 2026 (2QFY2026). Earnings for the first half reached RM540.58 million.
