Yinson GreenTech, the green technology arm of Yinson Holdings Bhd, has agreed to participate in Saxon Renewables’ EVolve programme to pursue carbon credits from its Malaysian electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

In a statement, Yinson GreenTech said it had signed a participation agreement for the programme. Developed by Saxon Renewables, EVolve brings qualifying charging infrastructure together within a single carbon project.

EVolve obtained registration in November 2025 under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard. Credits can be issued only after emissions reductions have undergone independent verification.

Yinson GreenTech said its role would include adding eligible charging infrastructure and improving systems for collecting and monitoring data as it seeks carbon credits. The company also intends to grow its charging network and fleet electrification activities, while considering whether to extend EVolve to more of its electric mobility portfolio.

Saxon Renewables managing director Reik Ong said EVolve aims to translate measurable emissions savings from EV charging into credits that could help finance additional charging infrastructure.

For Yinson, the partnership represents its first technology-based carbon project within its Carbon Project Framework. The framework guides the group when choosing carbon-related opportunities and partners.
