Datuk Vijayasundaram Jeyabalan acquired a 9.091% interest in Turiya Bhd through a private placement on Oct 14, 2026, making him its second-largest shareholder. Bursa Malaysia filings showed that he took up all 22.872 million placement shares for RM9.15 million, paying 40 sen each.

Turiya had proposed raising the funds to upgrade and refurbish Wisma Chase Perdana and meet scheduled financing instalments. Vijayasundaram heads LSP Sdn Bhd as chief executive officer. The company undertakes lighting projects and interior contracting, focusing on hospitality, royal institutions and government buildings.

Separately, Turiya appointed Nor Shamir Nor Shahid, 55, as managing director on Oct 15, 2026. The company specified in its Bursa Malaysia filing that the role does not include a board seat. He also serves as a non-independent director of Aurelius Technologies Bhd.

Following that appointment, substantial shareholder Shweta Nandy, 32, moved to a non-executive directorship after more than two years as executive director. Turiya said she would withdraw from daily executive coordination but continue contributing to board work.

Datuk Seri Shamir Kumar Nandy remains Turiya’s largest shareholder, with an indirect interest of 28.89% through his children, Shweta and Akash Neil Nandy, via Manor Capital Sdn Bhd. Manor Capital’s wholly owned subsidiary, Neo Pixel Sdn Bhd, directly holds the 28.89% interest.

For its financial year to June 30, 2026, Turiya reported RM29.24 million in revenue and RM3.95 million in net profit. Its shares were flat at 22.5 sen, giving it a market value of RM56.6 million. The stock was down 4.26% year to date.
