Unigel Global Bhd plans an initial public offering (IPO) on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market, with proceeds partly earmarked for expanding its Malaysian manufacturing operations. The company is linked to Eric Chhoa Kwang Hua, a co-founder of Opcom Holdings Bhd.

Its draft prospectus, available on Bursa Malaysia’s website, outlines plans to buy a ready-built factory in Klang, Selangor, and add a production line. Annual Malaysian capacity for specialised gels is expected to reach 9,400 tonnes, up 57% from 6,000 tonnes.

The proposed property would have about 70,000 sq ft of land and 25,000 sq ft of built-up space, housing both existing operations and the additional line. The group currently has three manufacturing and processing facilities in the US and one in Malaysia.

Other allocations would support a Malaysian technical centre, an artificial intelligence-enabled management system, working capital and listing costs. The offer price and fundraising amount remain undetermined.

The proposed issuance comprises 110 million new shares, equivalent to 22% of enlarged capital totalling 500 million shares. The Malaysian public would receive an allocation of 25 million shares, while eligible directors and employees would be allocated 7.5 million. Selected investors would be offered 77.5 million via private placement.

Unigel Global makes steel tapes and specialised gels to shield fibre-optic cables against moisture and physical damage. The Americas contributed 74.18% of revenue for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025).

For FY2025, the group reported RM16.71 million in net profit, a 56.4% increase over FY2024’s RM10.68 million. Revenue reached RM216.55 million, rising 26.4% against RM171.34 million. M&A Securities Sdn Bhd is advising on the IPO and acting as sponsor, underwriter and placement agent.
