Malaysian navigation app TuJu expects its navigation service to return to stable operation within two weeks, operator Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd said on Oct 23, apologising to users affected by recent technical problems.

Prosignal said restoring reliable navigation was its priority and that the app’s remaining features continued to work. It would provide progress updates through TuJu’s official channels.

The problems emerged after demand rose following the government’s immediate ban on civil servants using Waze. The government cited concerns that the Israeli regime could misuse government information and personal data.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also encouraged Malaysians to use local options, including TuJu, citing assurances about information security and privacy safeguards. The sharp increase in users caused technical difficulties and affected the app’s functionality and usability. TuJu had recorded more than 700,000 downloads.

Prosignal said feedback from users helped it locate technical faults and carry out fixes. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding data and Malaysians’ personal information.
