Trg Inc seeks partner for Tasik Kenyir water park redevelopment
The project could require around RM3 million, while several interested parties are assessing the proposal, according to its chief executive.

Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd (Trg Inc) is looking for a strategic partner for the redevelopment of a water theme park at Tasik Kenyir’s Pulau Poh in Hulu Terengganu, with possible expenditure of around RM3 million.
Its group president and chief executive officer Datuk Burhanuddin Hilmi Mohamed @ Harun said several parties had shown interest and were undertaking assessments. Speaking after ESG Affairs 2026 in Kuala Terengganu on Nov 3, he expressed hope that the park could reopen, possibly within a six-month period.
Burhanuddin Hilmi said he expected a larger redevelopment to draw more tourists and broaden the recreational options at Tasik Kenyir. He said a wider choice of entertainment and recreation was important to encourage visitors to spend longer in Terengganu.
Kenyir Water Park cost RM7.5 million to build and began operating on May 31, 2015. It closed in 2017 following several problems, including maintenance issues.
Separately, Burhanuddin Hilmi said ESG Affairs 2026 drew 200 participants. The programme comprised four forums addressing the state’s economy, industrial competitiveness, social development and readiness for investment, with the aim of clarifying economic priorities and opportunities for diversification.
