Tencent Cloud pledges continued Malaysia investment over three years
The company has not disclosed an investment amount, but plans to build on its Malaysian cloud infrastructure.

Tencent Cloud will continue investing in Malaysia over the next three years, according to Nucky Fang, general manager of Tencent Cloud International and Tencent Cloud Malaysia. He did not provide investment figures.
Speaking during a Southeast Asia media interview in Shenzhen, China, Fang said the company would build on its existing Malaysian cloud infrastructure and that more Tencent applications could be expected to emerge and grow. The interview coincided with the Global Digital Ecosystem Summit.
The company’s first Malaysian cloud region, launched in August, comprises up to three availability zones in Johor. It will join Tencent Cloud International’s infrastructure network, which covers 23 regions with 66 availability zones.
Fang said the company serves customers ranging from SMEs and startups to large enterprises. Its work also covers banking, financial services, payments and e-wallets, while demand for public cloud services among smaller businesses is growing, he said.
Tencent’s AI-generated content product is being used by many small and medium-sized Malaysian customers to create images and videos, according to Fang. He said Malaysia and other markets, including China, remain in an exploratory phase of AI adoption, with Tencent working alongside customers and local partners to integrate the technology into business operations and improve efficiency.
