Sunway Construction Group Bhd has received an additional RM920.8 million contract covering mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out work at a data centre under development in Johor, according to its Bursa Malaysia filing.

An unnamed multinational technology corporation headquartered in the US awarded the work to Sunway Construction Sdn Bhd, the group's wholly-owned subsidiary. The award letter authorises work to begin, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2028.

The group said the contract is expected to benefit earnings from the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026 onwards, subject to unforeseen circumstances. Following the award, new orders secured this year stand at RM8.06 billion, while outstanding orders total RM11.7 billion.

For its second quarter ended June 30,2026, the group recorded net profit of RM103.59 million, up 23.5% from RM83.89 million a year earlier. Better margins across its operating segments supported the increase, although lower construction revenue helped push overall revenue down 31.1% to RM1.02 billion from RM1.48 billion.

The shares ended trading on Nov 4 at RM7.68, a decline of four sen or 0.52%, giving the group a market value of RM10.2 billion.
