SkyeChip Bhd recorded RM17.7 million in net profit for 2QFY2027, which ended on Sept 30, 2026, up 27.2% from RM13.9 million in the preceding quarter. The integrated circuit designer reported revenue of RM54.16 million, a 9.1% increase from RM49.62 million.

New licensing projects lifted silicon intellectual property (IP) revenue by 30.3% quarter-on-quarter, supporting the earnings increase. Gross profit margin reached 46.9%, against 42.0% previously. The company did not announce a dividend.

Silicon IP generated RM34.24 million, representing 63.2% of quarterly revenue. Silicon products brought in RM19.52 million, or 36%, while other activities, including engineering services, contributed RM404,000.

By market, China accounted for 38.6% of revenue, ahead of North America's 36.6% and Northeast Asia's 24.7%. SkyeChip also received its first revenue contribution from Japan.

The company said quarterly net profit would have been approximately RM18.6 million without RM857,000 in one-off initial public offering expenses, compared with RM16.4 million for the preceding quarter.

For 1HFY2027, net profit totalled RM31.62 million and revenue reached RM103.78 million. Year-on-year comparisons were unavailable, as SkyeChip joined Bursa Malaysia's Main Market in May.

Chief executive officer Datuk Fong Swee Kiang said the company was funding next-generation IP and silicon products with RM430.2 million in cash and investments and no bank borrowings. Of the RM352 million raised through its IPO, RM22.13 million, or 6.3%, had been used as at end-September.
