S P Setia backs Budget 2027 housing and green investment measures
The developer said incentives for green investment and Johor’s economic corridor support its plans to expand industrial development alongside its township business.

S P Setia Bhd has backed Budget 2027 measures covering housing, green investment and construction costs, including a stamp duty exemption extended until 2030 for residential properties costing up to RM750,000.
In a statement, president and CEO Datuk Zaini Yusoff said the exemption would support buyers and housing demand. The developer also endorsed the goal of expanding affordable housing supply through collaboration between the public and private sectors under the 13th Malaysia Plan.
For its industrial development plans, the group pointed to the government’s emphasis on Johor’s economic corridor, the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and improvements to regional connectivity.
Zaini said the Green Investment Tax Allowance (Gita) was consistent with plans to develop Setia Fontaines Industrial Park as a green industrial park. He said these initiatives would support the expansion of the group’s industrial business alongside its core township operations.
The company also supported bringing back the Variation of Price mechanism, saying it would help contractors cope with changing diesel and bitumen costs. It said productivity, procurement efficiency and project delivery costs remained important in balancing affordability with the sustainability of the property sector.
