RTS Link passenger operations expected to start in February 2027
System testing and trial runs are targeted to finish by Dec 31, with third-party safety certification and approvals from both countries factored into the schedule.

RTS Operations Pte Ltd (RTSO) expects passenger operations on the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link to begin in February 2027. The operator said it aims to finish all system testing and trial runs by Dec 31.
In its statement, RTSO said the schedule allows for the remaining work, safety certification from a third party and the time needed to obtain approvals from both countries’ grantors.
The link will run between Johor Bahru’s Bukit Chagar and Singapore’s Woodlands North. Once completed, it will be able to carry up to 10,000 passengers in each direction per hour at peak capacity. Travel between the stations is expected to take about five minutes.
Both stations will house co-located Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) facilities, enabling passengers to complete immigration clearance before departure. RTSO said it expects the project to improve cross-border connectivity and make daily journeys between Johor Bahru and Singapore easier.
