PTT Synergy Group Bhd and Koperasi Kakitangan Bank Rakyat Bhd (Sekatarakyat) have held a groundbreaking ceremony for Sekata E-Logistics Park in Pontian, Johor. The companies announced the milestone in a statement dated Oct 8.

Plans for the development include five industrial warehouse units, each with a single storey. The statement said the facilities will include systems for harvesting rainwater and charging facilities for electric vehicles (EV), alongside provision for technology use in logistics operations.

PTT Synergy Group Bhd executive chairman Datuk Abd Rahim Jaafar said businesses supplying the Singapore market could benefit from keeping inventory in southern Johor. He said proximity to customers could help businesses meet demand more quickly and improve supply chain efficiency.

Sekatarakyat chairman Datuk Mustafha Abd Razak said the investment demonstrated confidence in Pontian's location. He expressed hope that the project would generate business opportunities, jobs and related economic activity for Pontian and nearby communities.
