Proton’s 2026 sales pass 2025 full-year total
September sales reached 19,465 units, taking the carmaker’s year-to-date tally to 160,886 units.

Proton reported sales of 160,886 units for the year to September 2026, exceeding the 157,976 units it sold throughout 2025. The company recorded 19,465 units in September, slightly below its August figure, with Q4 2026 still remaining.
The Saga remained Proton’s largest contributor by volume. September sales for the sedan were 8,701 units, lifting its year-to-date figure to 68,237 units, a gain of 34.5% over last year.
The S70 recorded September sales of 2,756 units and a year-to-date tally of 20,709 units. Proton said it expected rapid sales growth following the September launch of the naturally aspirated variant.
For its SUVs, Proton reported 1,995 X50 sales in September and 20,163 units year-to-date, saying the model retained its lead in the B-segment SUV market. X90 deliveries numbered 430 units for the month, taking its tally to 3,250 units and surpassing its 2025 full-year volume.
Proton also announced that combined deliveries of the eMas 5, eMas 7 and eMas 7 PHEV had exceeded 40,000 units, 21 months after the eMas 7’s December 2024 launch. Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang said eMas models represented 19.3% of Proton’s overall sales, close to the Malaysian government’s 2030 target for xEVs to make up 20% of automotive industry sales.
Exports of Proton and Geely models totalled 1,311 units in September, bringing the year-to-date export figure to 7,370 units, according to Proton.
