Pahang has obtained 12 agreements for investment commitments valued at RM421 million during the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said.

Speaking on Oct 16 following an exchange of documents on strategic cooperation involving the state government and seven companies, Wan Rosdy said the commitments needed to lead to physical projects that directly benefited Pahang and its residents.

He said Pahang would reduce bureaucratic obstacles for investors while maintaining regulatory requirements. The state’s participation through Invest Pahang had provided opportunities to develop strategic partnerships and present investment opportunities to domestic and foreign investors, he added.

Wan Rosdy said implementation, rather than the signing of memoranda or announced investment values alone, should determine whether collaborations succeeded. Pahang was prioritising investments that could generate employment, improve workers’ skills, support local businesses and bring in new technologies.

He also pointed to Pahang Barat Plus as an effort to address uneven development. The regional initiative is a partnership between the state and federal governments aimed at promoting balanced economic growth in Pahang’s western districts.

Hosted by the Selangor government and organised by Invest Selangor Bhd, SIBS 2026 runs from Oct 14-17 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
