MyDigital ID denies using third-party blockchain technology
The company said registrations cover 83% of Malaysia’s digitally active population, linking over 14 million Malaysians to digital services.

My Digital ID Sdn Bhd has rejected a media report suggesting that third-party blockchain technology powers its digital identity platform. The company issued a statement clarifying the technology claim.
According to the company, MyDigital ID registrations represent 83% of Malaysia’s digitally active population. The platform connects over 14 million Malaysians with more than 1,000 services available through 204 applications.
The company described MyDigital ID as a single sign-on platform intended to simplify online identity checks and improve security and access when users conduct transactions or use digital services. It said the platform neither retains personal data nor substitutes for MyKad as a means of identification.
My Digital ID Sdn Bhd said its owner is Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc). It sits under the Prime Minister’s Department, while the National Security Council provides oversight and the National Cyber Security Agency monitors it.
The MyDigital ID app is available through Google Play Store, Apple App Store and Huawei AppGallery.
