Malaysia considers participation in Embraer supply chain
Discussions with the Brazilian company could open the way to explore collaboration on Malaysia’s local downstream ecosystem, the defence minister said.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said Malaysia was exploring cooperation with Brazil’s Embraer Defense & Security, with a view to joining its supply chain regionally and globally.
The minister said in a Facebook post that he discussed the matter with Frederico Lemos, Embraer’s chief commercial officer, during a courtesy call at Wisma Pertahanan. He cited the company’s capabilities in developing aircraft and providing integrated defence solutions.
According to Mohamed Khaled, the meeting created an opening to explore collaboration on developing the local downstream ecosystem. He said the potential cooperation was consistent with the National Defence Industry Policy (DIPN) aspiration to strengthen local defence industry capabilities.
