Malaysia and France expected to sign energy transition MOU
Fadillah said discussions with the French ambassador also covered renewable energy and closer bilateral cooperation.

An energy transition memorandum of understanding (MOU) is expected to be signed soon by Malaysia and France, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said. The proposed agreement is intended to help advance efforts towards cleaner, more sustainable energy.
Writing on Facebook, Fadillah said the proposed MOU was discussed when Marc Abensour, the French ambassador to Malaysia, paid him a courtesy call at Parliament on Oct 6. Fadillah also holds the energy transition and water transformation portfolio.
The talks covered ways to deepen bilateral relations, with energy transition and renewable energy among the areas discussed. Fadillah said France's green technology expertise and experience could help Malaysia move forward with its energy transition agenda.
He expressed hope that strategic platforms would support further cooperation, including exchanges of expertise and technology, alongside investment opportunities benefiting both countries.
