Taiwan-listed Liton Technology Corp plans to establish a Malaysian manufacturing facility with an investment of RM115.58 million, following board approval on Oct 13.

A filing with Taiwan’s Market Observation Post System said the spending is expected in 2026 and 2027, using a combination of internal funds and external financing. Liton attributed the decision to customer requirements and its strategy to expand internationally.

Taiwanese media reported that Liton has chosen a Malaysian site and expects to purchase the land. The facility is targeted for completion in 2028, after which production lines would be introduced in stages according to market demand.

Those reports said the plant would offer another production location as customers look beyond China and Taiwan amid geopolitical uncertainty. It would also help Liton address higher costs for exports of aluminium foil made in China.

Liton manufactures etched and formed aluminium foils, the main raw materials for aluminium electrolytic capacitors. Its products serve applications including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, automotive electronics, electric vehicles, green energy and power infrastructure.
