Lim Seong Hai Capital plans public square near KL Tower
The square is awaiting approval, while a cable car linking Kuala Lumpur attractions remains an aspiration outside the original tender proposal.

Lim Seong Hai Capital Bhd plans to turn a parking area along Jalan Raja Chulan into KL Tower Square, with the aim of improving access to the tower and drawing more tourists. Approval is still pending, according to the group's non-independent non-executive chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Lim Keng Cheng.
Speaking at a press conference after the group's Main Market transfer, Lim said roadside obstructions would be removed under the plan to improve visitors' view of KL Tower. The group gave neither a development cost estimate nor a firm schedule for completing the square.
Lim also outlined his ambition for a cable car connecting the tower to tourist and heritage sites elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur. He said it was not part of the original tender proposal, leaving the idea as an aspiration rather than a confirmed project.
The group's involvement in KL Tower management is through LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd. Its subsidiary owns a 70% stake in that joint venture, which secured a 20-year concession covering the tower's operation, management and maintenance from April 2025.
Beyond the tower, Lim said the group wants to take part in larger infrastructure projects, including Mass Rapid Transit Line 3 (MRT3), highways, parking facilities and public transport infrastructure. It intends to pursue construction work alongside other contractors.
In September, the group said the government had given agreement in principle for its proposed Bandar Malaysia-Seri Kembangan Expressway. The RM1.75 billion project would use a build-operate-transfer model.
