Lazada Malaysia reports nearly 20 per cent growth in brands
Average order value increased 22.4 per cent, while spending per shopper rose seven per cent over the same period, according to the company.

Lazada Malaysia said its platform carried 21,756 brands in September 2026, up from 18,147, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly 20 per cent. Chief executive officer Kaya Qin said the company had added 3,609 recorded brand names.
Speaking at a media roundtable in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 20, Qin also reported higher spending measures. The platform’s average order value grew 22.4 per cent over the same period, while spending per shopper was seven per cent higher.
The roundtable presented findings from the 2026 eCommerce Savvy Shopper Report, which Lazada commissioned and Cube Asia conducted. According to Lazada Malaysia, the research classified 20 per cent of Malaysian online shoppers as savvy, with that group accounting for 25 per cent of eCommerce spending.
The company said these shoppers spent 36 per cent more monthly than general shoppers, compared with a regional difference of 31 per cent. Malaysia’s share of savvy shoppers was below the regional average of 24 per cent.
Lazada Malaysia said 62 per cent of Malaysian respondents checked sellers’ details before purchasing. It identified clearer product information and easier verification of sellers as areas where platforms, brands and sellers could help shoppers assess purchases.
