LAC Med Bhd has won a contract valued at up to RM20 million for medical imaging equipment and associated services at a planned Petaling Jaya healthcare facility. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, LAC Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd (LMS), received the award from Health Capitol Specialist Centre Sdn Bhd, according to a Bursa Malaysia filing.

LMS will handle equipment installation, testing and commissioning as well as supply. Its responsibilities also include maintenance and technical support. The agreement covers 84 months from the respective equipment supply commencement dates, with a further seven-year renewal possible if both parties agree.

The arrangement depends on conditions including regulatory approvals and operating licences for Health Capitol's ambulatory care centre, satisfactory credit assessments and completion of the facility.

Planned for The Capitol development, the centre will span more than 160,000 sq ft across four levels. Services will include diagnostic imaging, specialist consultations, day surgery and ambulatory procedures. Equipment under the contract includes the Spectral CT 7500, an MRI system requiring minimal helium, and systems for X-ray, echocardiography and ultrasound.

Group chief executive officer Liew Yoon Poh said the agreement reflected LAC Med's move towards integrated medical technology services through long-term arrangements, extending its involvement beyond equipment deployment and generating recurring revenue over the contract's duration.

LAC Med reported an order book of RM230.5 million as at Sept 30. It said recurring income from related products and services represented 59.8% of that amount.
