Kinergy Advancement Bhd has secured a subcontract worth RM47.5 million covering electrical works for a hyperscale data centre in Bandar Spring Hill, Port Dickson, according to its Oct 12 filing.

The award came from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gamuda Bhd. The data centre is for a US-headquartered multinational technology company whose identity was not disclosed in the filing.

Kinergy’s scope covers the design and supply of electrical infrastructure, alongside installation, testing and commissioning. It includes transformers and substations, cabling, power distribution, lighting, backup power and EV charging facilities. Completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028.

Datuk Dr Lai Keng Onn, Kinergy’s executive deputy chairman and group managing director, cited Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) figures showing approvals of RM95.8 billion for investments in data centres and cloud computing during the first half of 2026.

At the Oct 12 midday trading break, Kinergy shares remained at 39.5 sen, giving the company a market value of RM852.31 million.
