Facelifted 2026 Honda City Hatchback enters production in Melaka
The model has recorded over 51,000 Malaysian sales since its late-2021 debut and is now receiving its second facelift.

Production of the updated 2026 Honda City Hatchback is under way in Melaka at the plant operated by Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSB). Orders for the facelifted model opened on October 1, ahead of the manufacturing rollout.
HMSB marked the start of production with a ceremony on the manufacturing line. Noriyuki Shikata, Japan’s ambassador to Malaysia, attended and credited the company’s supplier partnerships with helping develop Malaysian capabilities and increase domestic production.
According to HMSB, approximately 500 local suppliers have worked with the company to date. It said its nationwide operations, dealerships and supplier partners together account for nearly 20,000 associates.
Managing director and CEO Narushi Yazaki linked the model’s rollout to Honda Malaysia’s manufacturing and innovation commitments, as well as its efforts to support the domestic automotive industry.
The City Hatchback made its debut in late-2021, followed by an initial facelift in 2024. This latest revision is its second facelift, with cumulative Malaysian sales exceeding 51,000 units.
