Harbour-Link subsidiary signs RM56.68 million deal for two container vessels
The planned purchase is intended to expand fleet capacity, while deployment after delivery is expected to support future earnings.

Harbour-Link Group Bhd said its subsidiary Harbour-Link Lines Sdn Bhd has signed two separate agreements to buy two container vessels from Sapor Shipbuilding Industries Sdn Bhd for RM56.68 million.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the group said it owns 85 per cent of Harbour-Link Lines. The proposed purchase covers self-propelled container vessels, each measuring 90-metre.
The group said the purchase forms part of its fleet expansion plans. It aims to increase marine capacity and improve operating efficiency, while addressing what it described as growing regional demand for container transportation services.
Harbour-Link does not expect the acquisition to materially affect earnings for the current financial year. However, it expects the vessels to make a positive contribution to future earnings and earnings per share once they are delivered and deployed.
