PETRONAS dividend forecast rises to RM32 billion for 2027
The expected payout is RM5 billion or 18.5% above the 2026 estimate and would match the dividends paid in 2024 and 2025.

The federal government expects Petroliam Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) to pay a dividend of RM32 billion in 2027, compared with an anticipated RM27 billion for 2026. The Finance Ministry set out the forecast in its Fiscal Outlook and Federal Government Revenue Estimates Report.
The increase is projected despite the oil price assumption being reduced to US$78 per barrel for 2027 from US$85 per barrel for 2026. The expected 2026 dividend is also above the initial RM20 billion estimate under Budget 2026.
PETRONAS would provide 8.4% of federal revenue in 2027 if total receipts reach the government's forecast of RM380.8 billion. Its anticipated contribution for 2026 represents 7.4% of projected income.
The company paid RM32 billion annually in 2024 and 2025, accounting for 9.9% and 9.6% of government revenue respectively. In 2023, its RM40 billion dividend represented 12.7% of revenue.
The largest payment was RM54 billion in 2019, including a RM30 billion special dividend to cover outstanding GST and other income tax refunds owed to businesses and individuals.
