Epicon Bhd said Concrete Empire Sdn Bhd, its 70%-owned subsidiary, has accepted a subcontract worth RM47.38 million to supply concrete support beams for the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) extension. The award came from IJM Construction Sdn Bhd.

In a bourse filing on Oct 14, Epicon said work is expected to start in mid-November, with completion expected by end-November 2028. IJM Construction is wholly owned by IJM Corp Bhd.

The extension, known as NPE2, is slated for completion by 2029. Its approximately 15.9km of elevated highway and ramps will link Pantai Toll Plaza with Jalan Istana through Jalan Syed Putra. A new toll plaza is also planned.

Epicon, previously named Konsortium Transnational Bhd, ended trading on Oct 14 unchanged at 18.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM116 million. Its shares have risen about five sen year to date.
