EGH International Bhd is prioritising expansion into Sarawak and Sabah, with potential building refurbishment opportunities in Sarawak and a possible shopping mall project in Sabah, according to group managing director Datuk Weslie Lim Yuk Ming.

Speaking at a press conference after the company’s ACE Market debut, Lim identified Sarawak as a promising market, citing older buildings that he said were undervalued or underused.

ECO Group Holdings Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of EGH International, signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct 15 with Karuna Venture Holdings Sdn Bhd to examine project opportunities in Sarawak. Lim said the local partner had helped the group gain access to the market.

He said the company had visited potential sites and was assessing the feasibility of repurposing buildings. He did not disclose project details but said an announcement would follow in the near future.

The interior fit-out specialist is also considering project inquiries from the US and Vietnam. Its activities include turnkey commercial interiors, custom furniture manufacturing and the supply of building materials.
