Two Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) board committees reviewed the ECRL’s progress while travelling on its comprehensive inspection train (CIT). MRL said the trip from Gombak to KotaSAS took about 85 minutes, while the journey back took a similar amount of time.

The train ran between Gombak Integrated Terminal ECRL Station and KotaSAS ECRL Station, Pahang. Participants included the finance and technical committee. Members of the board audit, risk and governance committee also attended, with both groups conducting meetings during the trip.

Chief executive officer Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak said the journey gave board members a direct view of how the railway performed as they fulfilled their committee responsibilities. MRL viewed the consistent travel times as a positive sign for testing and readiness.

Darwis stressed that readiness depended on safety and reliability, not just speed, as the project shifts towards operations. MRL said it would increase testing, commissioning and operational preparation work to satisfy regulatory, technical and safety requirements.
