Project proposals for 2027 total RM944 billion
The Economy Ministry received 9,955 proposals and said RM80.4 billion was required as the development expenditure ceiling for consideration.

The Economy Ministry said proposals submitted for 2027 covered 9,955 projects worth RM944 billion, including new projects and extensions. It said RM80.4 billion was required as the development expenditure ceiling for 2027 to be considered through development planning.
A written parliamentary response published on Oct 5 outlined how ministries and agencies may put forward development programmes and projects through rolling plans under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) 2026-2030.
The ministry said it had held engagement sessions involving ministries, state governments and relevant agencies. Those sessions prioritised projects according to needs, capacity for implementation and the timelines stipulated.
According to the ministry, the sessions were intended to help approved projects proceed in an orderly way, achieve full utilisation within the year and meet completion schedules. The 13MP sets a target for 2030 of zero development projects awaiting commencement in their second year following approval.
The response addressed Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Anak Brodi (GPS-Sri Aman), who asked how project announcements would specify allocations, implementation schedules, targets and the agencies responsible.
