Expectations of strong October production pushed crude palm oil (CPO) futures lower on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives on Oct 27, extending their decline to a second consecutive session despite improving export demand.

The November 2026 contract closed at RM4,462 per tonne after losing RM96. December 2026 finished at RM4,610, down RM94, while January 2027 ended at RM4,701 following a decline of RM88.

For February 2027, the settlement was RM4,795 per tonne, a fall of RM78. March 2027 lost RM69 to finish at RM4,879, and April 2027 closed RM61 lower at RM4,937.

Iceberg X Sdn Bhd proprietary trader David Ng told Bernama that worries about elevated Malaysian inventories were also affecting sentiment. He placed support near RM4,650 per tonne and expected resistance at RM4,850, with soybean oil and crude oil prices continuing to influence market direction.

Volume increased from Monday's 54,448 lots to 101,228 lots. Open interest eased from 342,858 contracts previously to 342,815 contracts.

In the physical market, November South CPO was priced at RM4,490 per tonne, down RM40.
