CPO export tax exemption proposal awaits further talks
Industry players submitted the proposal for November, with the Ministry of Finance considering it after engagement with the plantation ministry.

A proposal to exempt crude palm oil (CPO) exports from a 10 per cent tax for November remains at the planning stage, with further discussions needed before a decision, Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said.
Noraini said industry players had put forward the proposal. Her ministry held engagement sessions with them before referring it to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) for consideration. She said a decision on such proposals must go to the MoF.
She was speaking to Bernama in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 25 after attending the closing ceremony for the AI Muda@NADI 2026 Hackathon Programme.
The minister was responding to a local media report about a proposed exemption intended to tackle excess supply and improve export competitiveness.
Public Investment Bank Bhd said the proposal comes as Malaysia seeks to raise palm oil shipments while inventories remain high.
