Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition launches with RM83,800 promotional price
The locally assembled SUV adds a front and rear bodykit to the Turbo variant, while retaining its interior and equipment.
Chery has launched the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition in Malaysia, with an ongoing promotion bringing its price to RM83,800. Its on-the-road price excluding insurance is RM91,800, or RM3,000 above the standard Turbo variant.
Based on the Tiggo Cross Turbo, the Sport Edition is assembled locally at Inokom in Kulim, Kedah. Exterior additions include a gloss black front lip, side winglets and a diffuser-style rear extension. The two silver rectangular tailpipe-style fittings are decorative rather than functional.
The edition retains the Turbo’s 18-inch wheels and existing spoiler, and adds a Sport badge to the tailgate. There are no interior changes. Buyers can choose Carbon Black, Khaki White or Phantom Grey.
Its 1.5-litre turbo-four produces 147 PS and 210 Nm, with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the front wheels. The stated 0-100 km/h time in Sport mode is 10.3 seconds. Chery claims consumption of 6.3L per 100 km.
Equipment retained from the Turbo includes LED headlamps, faux leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a powered driver’s seat and a 15W wireless charging pad. Two 10.25-inch screens support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Safety equipment includes six airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. The Tiggo Cross carries a seven-year 150,000-km factory warranty, with Chery also providing free labour for six scheduled services.
