CelcomDigi Bhd said its wholly owned subsidiary, CelcomDigi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, accepted a spectrum award worth RM381.75 million from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). The company paid the amount in full on Oct 15.

According to its Bursa Malaysia filing, the award provides 2x20MHz in the 2600MHz band for four years, alongside 2x5MHz in the 900MHz band for five years. Notification of the award reached CelcomDigi on Oct 2, following applications opened by MCMC on Aug 14, 2026.

CelcomDigi said separately that the award would broaden its high-, mid- and low-band spectrum portfolio, supporting capacity, service quality and cost efficiency. It said the assignment provides a continuous block of 2x40MHz at 2600MHz and adds to its 900MHz holdings to improve coverage across Malaysia.

The assignments have yet to be finalised, with regulatory approval and all required conditions still outstanding. CelcomDigi used existing financing facilities and internal funds to pay for the award.

The company's shares ended Thursday at RM2.57, up six sen or 2.39%, giving it a market value of RM30.15 billion.
