Budget 2027 tax relief for Lindung contributors capped at RM150
Socso expects more than 8.5 million contributors to Lindung 24 Jam and 1.7 million to Lindung Kendiri to benefit.

The Social Security Organisation (Socso) said Budget 2027 will make additional tax relief available, with a ceiling of RM150, to people who retain Lindung 24 Jam Scheme coverage and those whose contributions to the Lindung Kendiri Scheme are mandatory.
The measures also include contribution matching for e-hailing and p-hailing workers. Socso will provide a 35% match, rising to 50% where platform companies contribute to the workers’ social security payments as well.
For self-employed people in 17 sectors where contributions are not mandatory, the matching incentive will be 70%. More than 200,000 individuals will be covered by this measure. Socso said it would ready its systems and operations to support their participation in Lindung Kendiri and access to the incentive.
Socso hopes the tax incentive will draw more participants into both Lindung schemes, including people who previously withdrew from Lindung 24 Jam. It reported 10,424 claims over that scheme’s initial four months, equivalent to an average of 85 daily.
Lembaga Tabung Haji will finance Socso protection for more than 40,000 religious functionaries. The recipients include imams and bilals, alongside tok siak, noja, marbut and takmir teachers.
Health screening vouchers will also be provided through Socso’s Safe and Healthy Driver programme. These are for commercial heavy vehicle drivers who are at least 40 years old, with the aim of detecting health problems early and reducing risks related to driving.
