Budget 2027: BPMB financing of RM1 billion to support MSME exports
The government will also provide Matrade with RM60 million to help Malaysian companies develop their capacity for overseas expansion.

Presenting Budget 2027 in Parliament on Oct 9, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said local MSMEs would receive export-market support through RM1 billion in financing from Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd (BPMB).
Anwar, also the finance minister, announced an allocation of RM60 million for the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade). This will support capacity-building among local companies seeking to enter overseas markets or diversify their presence abroad.
Young entrepreneurs will get support for growing their businesses online through the National Information Dissemination Centres (Nadi) platform. Anwar said the government would allocate RM142 million to strengthen the platform.
Separately, RM10 million will go towards the Jom Malaysia initiative. Its purpose is to help rural products and high-value services reach overseas markets and digital platforms, he said.
Anwar’s budget speech also put total Malaysian trade for the first eight months of 2026 at RM2.5 trillion. Exports increased by 31.2%, reaching RM1.36 trillion.
