EPIC Bhd, which is linked to the Terengganu state government, was selected as a Best Port Operator finalist at the Transport Expo Asia (TXA) Awards 2026. The category was won by Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd, with Westports Holdings Bhd also reaching the final.

In a statement, EPIC chief executive officer Dr Muhtar Suhaili described the result as an achievement for EPIC and its subsidiary, Konsortium Pelabuhan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (KPKSB). Separately, he said it recognised efforts by Kemaman Port’s management to raise productivity, improve cargo handling and support industrial and maritime growth on Malaysia’s East Coast.

Muhtar said safety, reliability and operational efficiency remained management priorities. He added that the recognition would spur EPIC’s continuing work on operational improvements, infrastructure upgrades and port capacity expansion to meet growing industrial demand.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke officiated at the ceremony at Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur. Led by Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport (MOT) and staged alongside Transport Expo Asia 2026, the awards cover 10 categories, including maritime, aviation, rail, land transport and logistics.
