Ni Hsin Group Bhd has agreed with China’s Horwin International Inc to manufacture electric motorcycles through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd (NHEVT). The agreement covers exclusive distribution in Malaysia and Türkiye, Ni Hsin said on Nov 4.

Assembly will take place at NHEVT’s factory in Seri Kembangan, Selangor. Horwin’s role is to supply chassis on a completely knocked-down (CKD) basis for the SK3 and SK3 PLUS models. Rollout of the first batch is expected in early 2027.

Ni Hsin said assembly would use 50% locally sourced components. According to the group, this would give the motorcycles “Malaysian Made” status and make them eligible for export to Türkiye under the Malaysia-Türkiye Free Trade Agreement.

The partners signed the agreement during the EIMCA Global electric vehicle trade show in Milan, Italy. Ni Hsin said its distribution network in Malaysia, together with Horwin’s market presence in Türkiye, would support the rollout and after-sales services.

China-headquartered Horwin has sales operations covering more than 50 countries across four continents. Its research and development centres are located in Europe, Asia and North America.
