Jin Jiang Hotels (Malaysia) will bring its Renjoy brand to Desaru, Johor, by revamping an existing resort, the group said in a statement dated Oct 29. It also plans a 7 Days Premium Hotel in Tanjung Malim, Perak, for the first half of 2027, with further details yet to be announced.

The Desaru project follows the signing of a hotel management agreement with Techvance Hotel & Resort, Techvance Group's hospitality arm. Sand & Sandals Desaru Beach Resort & Spa will undergo refurbishment and take the name Renjoy Hotel Desaru.

According to the group, work on the upper-midscale beachfront property will include changes to guest rooms, dining offerings and resort facilities. Li Xun, its regional general manager for Malaysia and Indonesia, said the project would introduce Renjoy to Southeast Asia and expand its Malaysian resort presence.

Jin Jiang Hotels (Malaysia) is part of Shanghai Stock Exchange-listed Jin Jiang Hotels. As at June 30, 2026, the parent operated 14,404 hotels comprising 1,393,084 guest rooms in more than 50 countries and regions.
