AiSEM@Selangor 2026 records potential GMV of RM430 million
The summit drew 23,333 visits, while its recruitment programme attracted over 8,000 job seekers.

AiSEM@Selangor 2026 generated potential gross merchandise value (GMV) estimated at RM430 million, according to the Selangor Information Technology & Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec). The four-day summit registered 23,333 visits and ended on Oct 17, 2026.
Sidec said the opening included exchanges involving 12 collaborations with an estimated potential value of RM65 million. These included memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and memoranda of collaboration (MoCs) spanning chip fabrication, talent development, AI computing and robotics.
Recruitment was another component of the event. The Malaysia Semiconductor Recruitment Day (MSRD) 2026, organised with the Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM), attracted over 8,000 job seekers. More than 60 semiconductor employers offered over 1,500 job opportunities, compared with just over 600 last year.
The summit's conference programme featured 40 speakers from Malaysia and abroad. It comprised the Semiconductor Conference on Oct 15 and the AI Innovation Conference on Oct 16. Exhibits at KLCC included more than 20 robots and autonomous machines.
Held within the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2026, AiSEM took place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. Sidec organised it alongside the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park and ASEM.
Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said the next task was to convert connections established at the summit into contracts, products and jobs.
